A MOSO® Bamboo Floor for a lifetime.
The floor is one of the most defining parts of the interior of your home. Wooden floors are popular thanks to their natural appearance. For maintenance purposes, other materials are often chosen. Bamboo floors are popular as a durable, natural and extremely hard material. A MOSO® bamboo floor offers several advantages over wood and other materials.
When choosing a floor, the appearance, the technical properties and the price play an important role. Bamboo, the natural, fast-growing alternative to all kinds of other materials, scores particularly well when a natural look and high quality are desired. As with wood, you can determine the appearance with the finish of your choice. With a wide range of large and small planks, with and without click system, there is a bamboo floor for every home. A solid MOSO® bamboo floor is made to last a lifetime.
Choose from different interior styles and photos and combine them with different MOSO® bamboo floors at the touch of a button.
MOSO® Bamboo Flooring offers several benefits over other flooring materials:
Moso bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. The bamboo stems grow from an underground root system and after 5 years a stem can be harvested, while the others continue to grow. This means the bamboo can be used without destroying the forest. After harvesting, the Moso bamboo stems are split and the outer skin is removed. By treating bamboo with steam, the light brown colour becomes more intense and the yellow shade disappears, we call this Ecru. By increasing the temperature and pressure during the steam treatment a warm brown colour appears we call caramel. After treating and drying, the strips are ready to be joined in several ways to make the final product. Depending on the method of laminating or compressing the strips, a bamboo floor is created in the style Side Pressed (narrow strips side by side), Plain Pressed (wide strips side by side) or High Density® (compressed under high pressure). After production and finishing, the bamboo floor is stronger and harder than almost any other wood.
With proper maintenance, a MOSO® bamboo floor will last a lifetime. Bamboo is not only ecologically sustainable, but as a floor it is also hard and robust. Nevertheless, depending on the degree of use, every floor will have to be maintained. In addition to regular cleaning, we recommend a periodic maintenance schedule that matches the chosen finish. An oiled floor, for example, should be cleaned with a care product instead of an all-purpose cleaner. A major advantage of bamboo, as with wood, is that damage can be repaired and that the top layer can be re-sanded and finished several times.
Unlike PVC or vinyl floors, a bamboo floor consists almost entirely of natural materials. At the end of its life, a bamboo floor can be burned in a power plant, while non-natural materials end up in a landfill. This, combined with the fact that bamboo grows rapidly and has a long life span, makes bamboo one of the most durable floors.
