Urban outdoor furniture of the city of Marseille

Bamboo outdoor furniture has been placed in Marseille, France in a major upgrade program of the city center. Designed by the D&A agency (Devillers et Associés) and developed, manufactured and installed by SERI, the leader in outdoor furniture, these modular structures combine strength and elegance with their steel structure and MOSO^® Bamboo beams.

Named Pacha, the new range of modular furniture includes picnic tables, benches, chairs and coffee tables in a contemporary, even timeless style, with qualitative and natural finishes. Materials are: steel and MOSO^® Bamboo X-treme^®.

"Maintenance is one of the sensitive factors of a seat and we were looking for a high-performance material that could resolve this problem. In collaboration with the D&A agency, we developed a technical solution made in France that stands out with the quality of the steel frame and MOSO^® bamboo beams; a durable material with an exceptional longevity. This solution stood out for a number of reasons, in particular the resistance and durability that it can offer. Also its hardness which allows, for example, to minimise the size of the central reinforcement of the bench, and thus, to gain in aesthetics."

A material with high resistance and easy maintenance

The Pacha range has been created with a single section of a Bamboo X-treme^® beam (2000x60x40 mm), which simplifies the installation of the various pieces of furniture. Weather resistant Bamboo X-treme^® beams are also less susceptible to vandalism than many common woods, due to their hardness.
