The Bamboo space was designed by the interior design agency Alterespacio to show the versatility, quality and sustainability of the fantastic material bamboo at Marbella Design & Art Fair. MOSO® Bamboo materials are used in many different ways: the veneer as shelf covering, the indoor Beams as wall and ceiling covering, the Bamboo Elite Premium flooring as floor and wall covering, the Flexbamboo roll for lining the inside of the circle and finally the Chevron Bamboo X-treme® Decking as outdoor deck.
As a starting point, the architect Ana Robles was inspired by the round bamboo section in the shape of an “O”, which creates a large circle inviting you to sit and discover the space. The space is designed with several levels of organic forms, recalling both the flexibility of the bamboo stem and its lanceolate leaves, reproduced, for example, on the entrance bench or by the reflection of the ceiling.
The enveloping horizontal and vertical lines of this space evoke the verticality of bamboo forests and immerse the visitor in the natural essence of this raw material. A different floor covering was chosen for each of the horizontal levels, with interior and exterior solutions.
Rhythm and contrast that reflect the beauty of the finishes and the richness of use, which all originate from the Moso bamboo (Phyllostachus Pubescens). Several sculptures by the sculptor Odnoder are included in the space.
