The 2012 Summer Olympics in London included a quite extensive redevelopment of the Games, with a focus on sustainability. As part of the city’s hosting of the event, the London Design Museum held the special Olympics exhibition “Designed to Win” – an exhibition of speed, power, performance and design. In line with the London’s redevelopment efforts, sustainability was an important factor when the designer chose bamboo flooring and bamboo veneer for the project. Durable bamboo connects perfectly with the idea of strength and performance that The Olympics represent.
